Ownership Registration & CAN Sail Number

To register your Optimist, or to apply for a CAN sail number, contact Hubert Bourque registrar@optican.org or mail to 1965 chemin Ste-Angélique, #208, St- Lazare, QC J7T 2Y4. Be prepared to submit the following documents (originals only; they will be returned) and info:

Brand new boat:
1.   Owner's (the sailor's) name and address
2.   ISAF Plaque # (see Blue Sticker in boat) of the hull
3.   Mail original Class Registration / Measurement booklet
4.   Include payment of $20 (make cheque out to: 'CODA')
A CAN sail number will then be issued.

Second hand boat with CAN sail number::
1.   New owner's (the sailor's) name and address
2.   ISAF Plaque # (see Blue Sticker in boat)
3.   Provide Sail #
4.   Mail original Class Registation/ Measurement booklet
5.   Include payment of $10 (make cheque out to: 'CODA')

USA boat (second hand or new):
1.  New owner's (sailor's) name, address
2.  ISAF Plaque # (see Blue Sticker in boat)
3.  Mail copy of USODA Registration Certificate
4.  Include payment of $20 (make cheque out to: 'CODA')

A CAN sail number will be issued.
